How to Prepare
Getting Ready for Your Roof or Siding Installation
A little preparation goes a long way toward a smooth installation day. Here's everything you need to do before our crew arrives.
Relocate Vehicles & Clear Driveway
Move all vehicles the night before. Our crew needs space for materials delivery and dumpster placement. Keep your garage door closed during work.
Protect Interior Items
Cover items in your attic and garage with sheets. Remove pictures, artwork, and fragile items from walls — vibrations from roofing can shake them loose.
Remove Valuables & Light Fixtures
Take down chandeliers, hanging decorations, and anything fragile near ceilings. The pounding above can cause vibrations throughout the house.
Plan for Children & Pets
The work zone is loud and unsafe. Consider having kids and pets stay with family or friends for the day. Noise can be especially stressful for animals.
Move Outdoor Furniture & Decor
Move patio furniture, grills, planters, and garden decor at least 15 feet from the house. We use tarps but this adds extra protection.
Prep Your Yard
Cut grass short and clean up pet waste before we arrive. Short grass makes post-project cleanup and magnetic nail sweeping much more effective.
Turn Off Sprinklers
Soggy lawns hide roofing debris and nails. Turn off your sprinkler system the day before and leave it off until our cleanup is complete.
Let Your Neighbors Know
Give your neighbors a heads-up about the timeline. They'll appreciate knowing when to expect noise, and it keeps the relationship friendly.
